We are currently looking for a nice human to join our small but mighty team at Jamsheed Wines!
Chef de Partie or Commis, Casual approximately 25-30 per week.
You will be joining a very small, but very lovely team here at Jamsheed, where we cook with locally grown produce. We prodomenately cook with charcoal and a woodfired oven, so some experience here is a positive, but not a neccesity.
Key responsibilities and goals:
- Prepping all dishes assigned to this section, following recipes and specifications.
- Following cooking techniques and plating standards.
- Ensure ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
- Monitoring stock levels of ingredients within their station and communicating to Head Chef.
- Delegate tasks to junior chefs and casuals, assisting in their training.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilisation of their work area, equipment, and utensils.
Quality Control:
- Taste dishes regularly to ensure proper seasoning and quality.
- Identify and address any issues with food quality or presentation
Teamwork and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
- Communicate clearly with Head Chef, Venue Manager and General Manager regarding any concerns or changes.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
- Report any potential food safety hazards immediately.
