About us

We’re a busy, detail-driven bakery operating within a high-volume café in Randwick. Everything is made from scratch. We prioritise consistency, structure, and a calm, focused working environment — even when it’s busy.

We’ve built a strong team and are looking for the right person to help lead within it.

 

The role

This is a hands-on baking role with leadership responsibility. You’ll be working closely with the team on daily production while helping maintain standards, support junior staff, and keep the kitchen running smoothly under pressure. This is not a purely creative role, and not a step away from the bench — you’ll be on the tools every day. This is a full time position offering a generous starting salary proportionate with applicant experience and opportunities for future growth. 

 

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has experience in high-volume, from-scratch baking environments (5 years in a senior role)
  • Values consistency and quality over ego or experimentation
  • Can stay calm and organised under pressure
  • Naturally supports and guides others

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Producing baked goods to a high standard, consistently and at pace (croissant and sourdough focus, in addition to a daily selection of cakes and sandwiches)
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Maintaining quality across all stages of prep, bake, and finish
  • Contributing to workflow improvements and overall organisation
  • Collaborating with other senior roles to drive long-term creative planning

  • You’re primarily focused on creative control over production
  • You struggle with feedback or fast-paced service
