About the role
· Work 7am – 3.30pm each day, with one earlier finish per week.
· Lead a small and experienced FoH and BoH team to deliver fantastic customer experience and consistently outstanding food & coffee.
· Facilitate workplace training for young people impacted by the Youth Justice system with the support of our Youth Programs team.
· Ensure compliance with healthy and safety regulations, labour laws, and our internal youth safety protocols.
· Oversee all daily tasks including opening and closing the venue, stock management, cleaning and venue presentation, managing COGs/wastage and labour costs, and recordkeeping.
· Use your leadership capabilities to uplift your team and manage underdeveloped skills.
· Maintain a high level of professional communication and responsiveness with your area supervisor, operations manager, and other internal stakeholders.
We’d love for you to have
· Genuine passion for hospitality and outstanding all-round knowledge of Melbourne’s food and coffee culture.
· Excellent leadership and motivational skills and the confidence to manage underperformance in your team.
· An understanding of managing COGs and Labour targets.
· Effective time management and communication, both verbal and written.
· Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role.
· Minimum 2 years' experience as a Barista in specialty coffee is essential.
