The iconic Evelyn Hotel is looking for a driven person to work in our bottleshop and become immersed in the wine community. We strongly believe in having a diverse range of small Australian wine makers, which is fostered through weekly customer tastings.
You'll be working closely with our Sommelier to assist in curating and maintaining the bottle shop. You will be responsible for the consistent and professional delivery of our products such as wine, beer and spirit sales, delivering a high standard of customer service, and providing input on ranging and product mix. You will proactively contribute to the smooth running of the bottleshop through stock control and maintaining a welcoming, well-presented venue.
The successful applicant will have:
* Previous experience in a similar capacity
* You have a strong passion for service and wine, a good understanding of the wine industry, local and internationally, WSET education would be preferred but not a deal breaker.
* Exceptional customer service skills
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
* Strong work ethic and attention to detail
* A genuine desire to learn and expand your knowledge is a must
* Ability to work independently
* A friendly and outgoing personality
* A responsible service of alcohol certificate
* Ability to use Canva would be preferred but not a deal breaker
This is a casual role and weekend availability is essential, especially over Christmas. Also to note that this is a role focused in the bottleshop and not within the bar.
