We’re searching high and low for that special piece to our event puzzle in the form of an Event Manager. Someone who knows events and enjoys managing teams to execute that perfect event on the night.

We have had a bit of confusion over the role so the last thing we would like to note is that we operate a bit differently. Our Event Coordination and Event Management are two separate teams. This role focuses on executing events on the day while managing a team of up to 30 staff during one event.

You are:

  • Excited to get stuck in with an event and lead the Food & beverage team to execute it perfectly
  • An ambitious and passionate person who has knowledge in the food & beverage industry

This is what your day-to-day will probably look like:

(You can probably guess but let us fill you in anyway!)

  • Execute events on the day to a high standard across multiple venues
  • Effectively managing the Front of House team during events
  • Coaching & development of the Front of House team
  • Provide consistent, exceptional service that goes the extra mile for clients and guests
  • Liaising and building excellent rapport with clients, guests, VIP’s, event organisers and external suppliers (bumping in events, confirming timings etc.) during events
  • Establishing collaborative and effective relationships with the kitchen team to ensure accurate and timely service of food
  • Actively managing the execution of Event Orders including event timings
  • Coordinating FOH team data (including rewards & recognition, certifications, and work rights)
  • Constantly role model MEG leadership traits and lead by example
  • Efficiently delegate to direct reports and all relevant team members

 

We have hopefully designed the role with some flexibility in mind. What does this look like? Well:

  • Full-time role, 38 hours
  • Four days a week on a rotating roster
  • This role is about running the Food & Beverage team on the day to execute an event
  • While we have a wide range of event types we manage, please be aware we specialise in weddings so most shifts will happen across nights and weekends
  • There will be some travel as we operate across a number of venues (though Leonda By The Yarra is our HQ and primary base of operation)
