About the role 

  • Your responsibilities will include: 
  • Work 8am-4pm across 5 days, Monday-Friday. 
  • Lead by example and help manage your team of baristas and front of house staff. 
  • Facilitate the workplace training experience for STREAT’s young trainees, supported by our dedicated youth programs team who are always on hand to support you and your team. 
  • Work closely with the cafe manager to ensure:
  • Health and safety requirements are met. 
  • Day-to-day operations of the cafe run smoothly, whilst always striving for exceptional customer service.  
  • Maintain a pristine space, and take pride in the fine details.

About you 

We’d love for you to have: 

  • A genuine passion for hospitality. 
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills. 
  • Outstanding all round knowledge of Melbourne’s food and coffee culture. 
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role. 
  • A desire to help foster an exceptional hospitality experience for every customer. 
  • Some experience in specialty coffee is essential.

About our team 

We’re a team of over 90 staff – mainly baristas and chefs – but also youth workers, social workers and a bunch of admin and support staff. Our team has four key traits: We dream big about changing the world, we’re creative in how we try and solve problems, we all roll up our sleeves and get stuff done - and we have fun doing it!  

The role is available from April 15th but an alternative start date can be discussed and we'll be reviewing applications as they're submitted. 

As part of STREAT's onboarding policy, you will require a current Victorian Working with Children Check prior to commencement. Any cost to you will be reimbursed by us.
