We are looking for an experienced Cafe Manager to help a sister duo run our dream cafe, nestled in the backstreets of Coburg.

THE VENUE
Two Franks is a local Cafe & General Store in a suburban pocket of Coburg, located in a 100-year-old butcher shop, fulfilling a lifelong goal to create a nostalgic and community-oriented space featuring top Melbourne suppliers.


Nestled between Sydney Road and Melville Road in Coburg is Two Franks – a 30 year old dream of two local sisters, in a 100-year-old butcher shop. We are less than a year into our vision to create a nostalgic and community-oriented space featuring top Melbourne suppliers.


We have worked with and continue to work with top Melbourne suppliers like Small Batch Coffee, Saint David Dairy, OCAB Bakery, Cobb Lane, Cakehouse Collective, Catchlove Flowers.


THE ROLE

  • Regular hours on a rotating roster (at least one weekend shift required)
  • Finish up by 3pm (2pm on Sundays!)
  • Lovely, kind, welcoming team and local community
  • Supportive owners who grew up in the area and care about their community and the team


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee daily cafe operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Help manage inventory & stock levels to ensure they are always at an optimal level
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the cafe, both FOH + BOH
  • Manage a small team across three separate zones (coffee, front of house, food prep)
  • Expertly manage customer expectations and experience to ensure they always leave satisfied
  • Be a dependable, reliable and conscientious leader who treats our cafe as their own


You will have:

  • At least 2 years experience in a leadership role
  • An appreciation and understanding of specialty coffee
  • Dedication to good team culture and customer happiness
  • An ability to maintain a pristine work environment and great attention to detail

Nice to have

  • A love of the hustle and bustle of hospitality work
  • Experience in ordering, rostering and stock control
  • A people person who looks for opportunities to make someone’s day
  • The ability to brew and pour a stellar specialty coffee (espresso + filter)
  • Ability to dial in and close up coffee machine
  • Food prep and make-to-order experience
