MoVida is looking for full time and part time Commi Chefs.
About MoVida
MoVida is our original classic Spanish Tapas restaurant, located at 1 Hosier Lane Melbourne, we offer both modern and traditional Spanish food, in a warm and casual environment with professional service.
We have a full time and part time position available. MoVida is open seven days a week so you may be required to work weekends, we do however ensure that our team has two consecutive days off each week.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Have initiative and be self motivated
- Formal training is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Quality and cost control
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Follow workplace occupational health and safety procedures at all times
- Examine all deliveries to ensure quality and product consistency
- Preparing and cooking food, minimising food wastage
- Cooking and plating up food consistent according to the recipe, making sure the quality of the food meets our expectations
- Designing new dishes for the menu
- Adjusting and modifying dishes for dietary requirements and allergies
- Ensure stock is controlled and rotated and food is stored appropriately
- Assist with ordering food from suppliers and monthly stock takes
- Assist with maintaining food and labour cost targets
- Use all kitchen equipment correctly, regulating temperatures and reporting any problems or damage
- Assist with training new and apprentice staff, including demonstrating cooking techniques
