Cavallini Artisan Bakery is a family-owned European patisserie located in Fitzroy North. For the past 19 years, we’ve been proudly creating high-quality cakes, pastries, and baked goods for our loyal customers.
We are currently seeking a trade-qualified Head or Sous Pastry Chef with a passion for cake decorating, viennoiserie production, savouries and strong leadership in a busy kitchen environment.
About the Role:
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership position
- A portfolio of previous work in a Head or Sous Pastry Chef role
- Experience with large-scale preparation and working to tight deadlines highly regarded
- Kitchen management responsibilities, including rosters, purchasing, and quality control
Key Responsibilities:
- Baking and decorating a wide range of cakes and pastries from scratch
- Leading and working collaboratively with a team of professionals
- Working with the Directors to enhance processes and procedures
- Developing and introducing new products
- Ensuring compliance with HACCP principles and food safety standards
- Managing kitchen staff in a fast-paced, diverse operation

The Details:
- Full-time role
- Operation runs 7 days a week
- Regular roster: Tuesday - Saturday (Sunday & Monday day off)
