We're on the hunt for a Sommelier or Wine Manager, offering great pairings, sharing stories of delicious bottles our guests should try, you'll bring personality, enthusiasm, and curiosity to the floor and team while ensuring our wine service is warm, approachable, and professional.
Winston’s is a neighbourhood restaurant and wine bar in Black Rock built around thoughtful hospitality, seasonal food, and a love of wine. We’re a small, passionate team that prides itself on creating memorable dining experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities
Curate and maintain a thoughtful, balanced wine list with a focus on small producers, sustainability, and seasonality
Deliver engaging and accessible wine service and recommendations for guests
Train and mentor the team to feel confident talking about wine
Manage supplier relationships, stock control, and cellar organisation
Collaborate with the kitchen on menu pairings and seasonal changes
About You
Previous experience as a sommelier, wine manager, or strong wine-focused floor role
A genuine love of hospitality and guest experience
Strong knowledge of local and international wine (WSET or similar qualifications a bonus, but not essential)
Organised, proactive, and collaborative
Passionate about building something special with a close-knit team
