The Kitchen Assistant is the engine of the kitchen - the person who keeps everything moving.
You'll help with cleaning, organisation, equipment prep, packing orders, cleaning, stock management and general operational support. This is a logistical role, but you'll need the flexibility to jump in wherever needed to keep production flowing smoothly.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Catering Assistant is responsible for:
- Support the catering and events team through equipment preparation, organisation, and pack-down to ensure smooth event delivery.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, equipment care, and stock control to uphold high operational and hygiene standards.
- Provide logistical and general support, including packing, deliveries, and teamwork, to contribute to the success of each event.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
EQUIPMENT AND STOCK CONTROL
- Monitor, control, and oversee catering equipment stock including plates, trays, cutlery, and other service items.
- Ensure equipment is properly stored, labelled, and accounted for before and after events.
- Report any shortages, damage, or maintenance needs to management.
CLEANING AND MAINTAINANCE
- Wash, sanitise, polish, and put away dirty equipment from events in line with hygiene standards.
- Follow the daily and weekly cleaning schedules for the preparation kitchen.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
EVENT LOGISTICS SUPPORT
- Assist in categorising, packing, and organising equipment and supplies prior to events.
- Support the development and maintenance of logistical systems for smooth event operations.
- Drop off and pick up orders and event equipment when required. (Driver’s licence desirable)
GENERAL SUPPORT
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and events team to meet timelines and service standards.
- Assist with additional tasks as directed to ensure the success of each event.
This is a casual role with part to full time hours with the view to grow.
Drivers licence is preferred but not essential.
