Barista / Bookseller

A bookshop with cafe in Melbourne is seeking a casual barista / bookseller to join our team.

About You:

• Possess exceptional Barista skills and knowledge in the art of coffee making.
• Love to read and can use your passion and interest in reading to recommend books to customers. 
• Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour.
• Display superb attention to detail with efficient production and delivery of quality coffee.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Present yourself professionally and maintain a high standard of appearance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve coffee beverages to order, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and other specialty drinks.
• Ensure coffee machines and equipment are properly maintained and cleaned.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, including restocking supplies as needed.
• Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
• Being a small independent bookstore you will be involved in many aspects of the store operation including receiving stock, merchandising and returns.  We can provide training for this.

To be considered for this role you should:

• Have at least 1 year of experience as a Barista
