We are looking for a senior barista for Glenmore Road. You must love coffee, hospitality and serving others. You will represent our coffee program with passion and understanding. A minimum of 2-5 years behind the bar in high volume output; dialling in, creating beverages, providing quality customer service, managing stock and training new staff.

You are a lover of flavour, and particularly the breadth of permutations the coffee world has to offer. You are an ambassador for not only Mecca, but the coffee producers with whom we partner with around the world. You love precision and you can translate our roasted coffee into an extraordinary cup utilising the best tools we have available.
You know how to set up and pack down a workspace that enables you to create a workflow that always promotes efficiency and a highly productive bar. You are organised, clean, tidy, neat and safe.
You are experienced as a barista in high volume worplaces and take your coffee very seriously. You’re excited by our coffee program and spearhead the distillation of information per coffee to the FOH team. You connect with our customers and you are always available to engage. You are comfortable hosting customers at the table as well as across the bar.
You love people and you love serving people. You take pride in your work and you care deeply about the delivery of our delicious drinks and food BUT you don’t take yourself too seriously. One of Mecca’s values is FUN and you have a sense of fun and an ability to have fun whilst working hard and staying focused.
You make sure the Venue Manager (or corresponding Manager) always knows what is happening and you always know where your team is at. You run the bar like a Swiss watch - accurately, beautifully and elegantly.
You ensure all staff who brew coffee are always well trained and up to date across brewing recipes and coffee offerings. You maintain strong relationships with the Roasting & Despatch Teams and ensure there is good flow of information and processes.
