Field Day is a small but mighty cafe in Warrandyte built around good food, good coffee, warm service and a genuine connection to the local community.
Since opening, we’ve built strong momentum by offering a warm 'third place' that the locals have genuinely embraced.
We’re now looking for the right person to help shape where Field Day goes next.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional looking for more than a standard job.

We’re seeking a capable, grounded operator to take ownership of day-to-day operations with a strong BOH focus. You’ll help lead the daily flow of the business, working closely with our Manager and Head Chef while supporting the wider team to perform at their best.

You’ll work directly with the owner on strategy, systems and growth. Your ideas, experience and input will be genuinely valued in this role, and you’ll have the support to make meaningful improvements.

We see this as a real long-term opportunity for the right person, with scope to step into broader leadership and a potential equity pathway over time.

What the role involves

  • Leading daily BOH operations and service readiness
  • Overseeing prep flow, ordering, stock control and standards
  • Improving systems, workflow and team accountability
  • Working closely with FOH leadership to keep service smooth and consistent
  • Helping drive a calm, professional, high-performing culture
  • Supporting ownership with reporting, ideas and operational improvements

Who this role suits

You may currently be a Head Chef, Senior Sous, Venue Manager, or experienced operator ready for a bigger opportunity.
