Part time/Casual/Full time Chef/cook

Joy Coburg is seeking a talented Chef / Cook to join our team.

Our intention is to create extraordinary customer experiences through excellent product, thoughtful hospitality, and genuine connection.

Over the past three years, our small team has worked diligently to build Joy into an integral and cherished part of the local Coburg community. We are seeking hospitality professionals who deliver consistent, high standards of food and service and are passionate about cultivating a warm sense of community.

About the Role

• Employment Type: Part-time, or Casual available with the possibility of Full time
• Operational Hours: Open from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM (daytime hours only).
• Creative Freedom: An evolving menu offering where innovation, seasonal inspiration, and continuous improvement are warmly encouraged.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

 Delivering a consistent, high standard of food alongside a small, collaborative team.

 Working the pass, maintaining the line, and keeping service running smoothly.

 Preparing sandwiches, toasts, smoothies, fresh produce, dressings, and sauces.

 Placing daily supplier orders (bread, produce) and restocking as required.

 Receiving deliveries and managing kitchen inventory.

 Adhering strictly to food safety protocols, hygiene, and company specifications.

 Maintaining a clean, organized, and spotless kitchen space.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

 A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar kitchen role.

 Valid work rights in Australia.

 A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliable nature.

 Great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well in a small team.

 The ability to work efficiently and remain calm under pressure.

 Aptitude for working well both autonomously and collaboratively.

 Strong attention to detail.
