Employment Type: Full-time, under The Publican.Co Enterprise Agreement 2023/2024
We’re looking for a talented and passionate Chef to join the team at Marquis of Lorne, one of Fitzroy’s favourite pubs. This is a great opportunity to be part of a respected venue that values quality food, a strong kitchen culture, and a love for great hospitality.
To be successful, you will have:
- A Diploma-level qualification in Commercial Cookery (minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery)
- and/or at least two years of relevant experience in a fast-paced kitchen
- A strong work ethic and a passion for producing top-quality food
- Sound knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene standards
- Confidence in preparing a variety of dishes with consistency and care
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- A genuine interest in contributing to a welcoming and professional kitchen
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Preparing and plating high-quality dishes in line with our venue’s food standards
- Managing section prep and service during busy periods
- Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment, following food safety standards
- Assisting with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
