Merry St is a vibrant 50-seat restaurant located just minutes from the beach. Owned and run by husband and wife duo, we're all about seasonal menus, local produce, bold flavours, and creating a welcoming experience for our guests.
Our food is thoughtful but approachable - from slow-cooked ragu to local seafood and vibrant share plates. We love working closely with local growers, makers, and fishermen, and we're constantly evolving our offering with the seasons.

The Role
As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to lead service, contribute to menu development, and help manage the day-to-day kitchen operations. You'll be part of a small, collaborative team with room to grow your skills, ideas, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead services and support kitchen operations with consistency and calm
* Assist with seasonal menu development and specials
* Ensure quality, consistency and cleanliness across prep and service
* Mentor and support junior kitchen staff
* Manage stock rotation, ordering and kitchen organisation
* Uphold food safety and hygiene standards

* A strong background in seasonal, produce-led cooking
* Experience as a Sous Chef or confident CDP ready to take the next step
* Someone who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment
* A good communicator with a calm, positive approach
