French Saloon in the heart of Melbournes CBD is looking for it's next Restaurant Manager.
FRENCH SALOON is a beautiful second floor restaurant open from Tuesday-Saturday with three private events spaces. We are looking for a Restaurant Manager who has a genuine passionate for food and wine, loves offering exceptional customer service and has a strong desire to lead and inspire a professional team.
Working together with our downstairs venues, (Kirks Wine Bar & Le Pub) you will be surrounded by like-minded professionals who love sharing their knowledge with colleagues and guests and have a passion for delivering top-level hospitality service.
Ideally candidates will have 2-3 years experience as a manager or supervisor in a one-hat restaurant and be someone who wants to make a long-term commitment to developing their career.
This is a Hands-on role that is responsible for the day to day running of the restaurant that includes:
Opening and closing the venue alongside supervisors
Monitor on-line bookings and TILL Reconciliation
Supervise staff and manage their performance
Ensure the smooth running of the service, supporting the floor and kitchen staff and maintain our polished but unpretentious style of service
Brief staff pre-service on new food & beverage items & list changes
Prepare & manage FOH rosters
Team up with the head sommelier to ensure the wine list is stocked, balanced and interesting
Work closely with the events department by meeting weekly to ensure all upcoming events are staffed and seamlessly organised to the highest standards
A bit about you:
Have a passion and appreciation for food & wine
You will be a strong leader on the floor, ensuring the smooth running of the service, supporting the floor and kitchen staff and engaging with our guests to ensure their experience is a positive one.
Have an eye for detail across all elements of the venue
An ongoing commitment to improving your skills and product knowledge
Ability to communicate in a clear, polite, and professional manner
Enjoy and thrive working in a fast-paced dynamic environment
The ability to develop relationships with our customers and work colleagues
Hold a WSET 2/3 or Court of Master Sommeliers certification (preferred but not essential)
Experience with a Bepoz, Open Table and MS Office Suite (Preferred but not essential)
Have a strong work ethic, common sense, self-driven and the ability to tackle a hectic service with calm and confidence
