About Reground

Reground is a waste education service committed to changing behaviour around waste. We believe waste is a resource. We work with some of Melbourne's best cafes, coffee roasters and businesses and we are actively engaged in changing the systems around waste through applied solutions and advocacy work. Over the last 10 years we have built a strong network of change makers in Melbourne and now it's time for Reground to expand to Sydney!

We have diverted over 2,000,000 kilos of coffee from landfill to community and home gardeners and helped hundreds of businesses move closer to being waste-free. We also work closely with councils, state government, and corporations consulting on best practice resource recovery and waste avoidance.

Working at Reground

This is an opportunity to create real, lasting impact as part of a progressive organisation with a strong vision, a compelling mission and a great culture. We are co-creating an environment that supports every person to be their best self: we have a focus on learning and growth that applies to every team member as much as it does to the organisation as a whole.

At Reground we work 4 days per week as we believe this creates healthier, happier people. This role will be based in Sydney, however we will facilitate training and regular visits to our Melbourne Head Office. Our team members have the option to work remotely for up to two days each week.

About the Role

Reground’s origins are in Melbourne’s specialty coffee industry, and although we have grown and changed a lot since being founded, these relationships remain one of our biggest strengths (and our greatest satisfactions!).

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to work in the sustainability side of coffee and who strongly believes in the service Reground is offering. We are a small team, so you will be expected to deliver outcomes as well as conceptualise them. You will also be required to get your hands dirty in our recycling projects and resource recovery work from time to time.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Manage medium and large client accounts, ensuring satisfaction and retention.
  • Compliance: Manage policies and document compliance, ensuring all operations adhere to regulations.
  • Strategic Growth: Build partnerships and networks to support sustainable growth.
  • Public Relations and Events: Represent Reground at events and foster public awareness of our mission.
  • Human Resources: Oversee payroll and rostering.
  • Business Development: Implement strategies to expand services and enhance revenue streams.
  • Commercial End-Users: Manage relationships and deliver tailored solutions.

About you

  • At least five years experience in a comparable role.
  • Have excellent logistics and organisational skills.
  • Passionate about the environment, the circular economy and community wellbeing.
  • Exceptional work ethic, time management, and deadline-driven performance.
  • Proficiency in building collaborative relationships.
  • Comfortable driving larger vehicles/holds a manual license.

Key to success in this role will be a deep understanding of the local coffee industry paired with exceptional interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills. Trust and respect among an existing network of industry connections in NSW will be a strong advantage.

You will need to have personal experience in the coffee industry, ideally across multiple businesses and roles, and a very solid understanding of the goals, motivations and challenges facing hospitality professionals.

You will be a hospitality natural: energetic, positive, friendly, articulate and intuitive. Like any representative of Reground, you will be a team player who does your work with integrity, positivity and good humour.

Note

We would love to get started ASAP, so if you’re interested in the position, let us know!

You don’t need to know much about waste and the circular economy, however, you do need to recognise the importance and the potential that waste plays in combating climate change and creating community and well-being.
