The Venue Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant FOH, ensuring that our guests get the best Lilac Wine experience. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

About us
The Mulberry Group is a Melbourne-based hospitality group founded in 2011 by Nathan Toleman. Since then The Mulberry Group has opened venues including Hazel, Dessous, Liminal, Lilac Wine, Heide Kitchen, Square One Coffee Roasters, Molli and Lt. Molli, and our regenerative agricultural farm and charity, Common Ground Project. Across our venues we now have a team of over 190 amazing people, and counting.

About the role
As the Venue Manager reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing all aspects of the venue, including staffing, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Managing and training team of 8 front-of-house staff, including hiring, rostering, and development.
- Maintaining our high standards of warm hospitality.
- Taking care of the venue, making sure that it’s clean, well-maintained, and inviting for our guests.
- Manage inventory and supplies, including ordering and working to budgets.
- Oversee the success of the wine program.
- Coordinate with our events and marketing teams to boost the revenue of the business.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the wider Cremorne community, thinking creatively to engage them with the space.
- Building and maintaining a positive workplace culture in line with our company values.
About you
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience managing a bar/restaurant.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A passion for Melbourne hospitality.
- Strong wine knowledge required. Experience in managing a wine program is a bonus (not essential).
