We are excited to announce an opening for a dynamic, driven, and dedicated Store Manager to join our team. Our two Xocolatl cafes in Kew and Canterbury Melbourne, along with our chocolate manufacturing department, offer an unparalleled opportunity for someone who is passionate about both customer service and artisan chocolate.

About the role

As the Café/store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Canterbury store. Your leadership will ensure that the store operates smoothly and efficiently, maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Staff Management:assisting with rostering, onboarding, and offboarding processes to ensure optimal staffing levels and team efficiency within budget
  • Stock Management:Manage the ordering of stock, inventory control, and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
  • Banking and Financial Oversight:Handle daily banking activities and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Quality Assurance:Ensure all café/store operations meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Implement and maintain quality assurance processes, conduct regular inspections, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Inventory Management:Regularly monitor and manage inventory levels to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
  • Supervisory Leadership:Provide strong leadership and support to the café/store team fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Merchandising:Develop and implement merchandising strategies to maximize sales and enhance the customer experience.
  • Training:assist with staff training

 Qualifications and experience

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably with experience in café management and/or chocolate production.
  • An understanding of food safety standards and regulations
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and financial oversight.
  • An understanding of social media and marketing principles.
  • Passion for high-quality chocolate and beverage products.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency essential. 
  • Barista knowledge and experience is essential.
