Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations
- Lead and mentor junior kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation * Maintain and uphold food safety and hygiene regulations
- Collaborate in menu development with a focus on seasonal ingredients and local produce
- Ensure consistent presentation and quality of all dishes
- Manage inventory, stock control, and kitchen supplies
- Supervise catering functions and ensure timely delivery of events
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef, with at least 5 years in a similar role * Strong leadership and communication skills
- Expertise in menu planning and execution
- Thorough knowledge of kitchen equipment and operations
- Familiarity with Australian food safety standards and regulations
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Creative problem-solving and team collaboration skills
- Diploma in Hospitality Management
Working Hours:
Please note that this position requires flexibility in working hours. Early morning shift starts at 5:00 AM. Night shifts, and weekend availability are essential due to the nature of our catering services and event schedules.
