Head Chef

Jethro Canteen is an established, modern café that has been proudly serving the local community for 10 years.

We’re a seven-day-a-week operation known for high-end café food, excellent coffee, and a loyal following of regulars and locals who return time and time again.

We are now looking for an experienced, passionate and motivated Head Chef to take complete ownership of our kitchen and play a key role in the continued success of Jethro.

This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who wants genuine autonomy, creative freedom and the ability to make their mark on an established and highly regarded café.

As Head Chef, you will have full autonomy and responsibility for the kitchen, working closely with the owners and management to maintain our high standards while continuing to develop and evolve our food offering.

You will have the freedom to lead the kitchen your way, supported by an established business, a loyal customer base and a strong reputation in the local area.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Take complete responsibility for the kitchen and its direction.
• Have significant input and creative control over the menu.
• Build and lead your own kitchen team.
• Control staffing, rostering and kitchen operations.
• Take ownership of ordering, suppliers, stock and food costs.
• Introduce new ideas, dishes and systems.
• Work within an established café with a loyal customer following.
• Become a key part of a well-known local business with 10 years of history.
• Help shape the next chapter of Jethro Canteen.

 We’re looking for someone who is more than just a great cook. You will be a confident kitchen leader who takes pride in their work and enjoys having genuine responsibility and autonomy.
