We’re just getting started in Australia, and we need an experienced Account Executive to step up to the plate and drive our sales in market.  You’ll be running hard with a new SDR who is quickly getting up to speed, and he’s ready to start driving demos into your calendar. They’ll be coming from both inbound and outbound sources, across both Australia and New Zealand (where we’re an established market leader).

You’ll own Loaded’s revenue targets, and you’ll find ways to beat them. You’ll be inventive and creative, and you’ll work in a way that builds trust and respect in the wonderful hospitality industry that we’re here to serve.

You’ll know you’re the person we’re looking for if you can quickly get across who we are and how we go about things, confidently layer your sales experience (and personality) onto it, and run hard as our senior sales person. You’ll know that building early momentum is a challenge, but you won’t shy away from it. In fact, you’ll probably love it. You won’t have to ask for the rope you need to get the results we’re pushing for, because you’re someone who quickly earns, builds, and keeps trust.

How does this role deliver impact? 

As our Account Exec you will be responsible for hitting Loaded’s monthly revenue targets. You’ll be working closely with an SDR who is laser-focused on stacking up continual warm pipeline for you (culminating in demos being booked in your calendar), and your job will be to take it from there. You’ll be wowing hospitality owners and managers over Zoom with the impact Loaded can make on their business, and confidently drawing them through your sales process to the point of taking payment for their first month’s subscription. You’ll then provide a smooth, engaging, efficient handover to our Customer Success Manager. 

But that warm pipeline? It may not always be enough. So if and when it’s not, you’ll also do whatever you can to push for those targets under your own steam. 

You’ll also be the first to put your hand up to attend events, meet up with partners, rock into a local Melbourne venue because you decide our primarily-remote sales process just won’t cut it this time, and…well…any other things you think might help us grow the Loaded brand and footprint in Australia.

A bit of detail about the role

In this role, your day-to-day responsibilities will include the following:

  • Running compelling demos over Zoom.
  • Managing follow-ups (phone, email, text messages etc.).
  • Converting interested hospitality businesses into paying customers.
  • Through all of the above, build and maintain strong, long-lasting industry relationships.
  • Managing active pipeline and keeping our forecasts clean and accurate.
  • Identifying and communicating expansion and upsell opportunities to the right people at the right time.
  • Passing to the Success team to ensure the best possible onboarding and implementation experience.
  • Regularly communicating with Product on how Loaded is being received in the market.
  • Regularly reporting key sales metrics like revenue, average deal size, conversion rates, and sales velocity.
  • Working closely with your SDR, helping them keep their pipeline aligned with Loaded’s ideal customers.
  • Working closely with our Head of GTM to continually improve our sales processes.
  • Collaborating with both the team and others across the business (which is something you won’t even think about, because keeping those lines of communication and support open come naturally to you).
  • Being present and visible in our company Slack, keeping our energy and transparency high.
  • Keeping a finger on the pulse of both the hospitality industry and our competitive landscape.
  • Attend industry events and functions to build relationships and spread the Loaded brand.

From time to time, you’ll also step outside of your role when needed and contribute to the wider Loaded team to achieve organisational objectives.


Skills and experience we would love you to have 

  • Previous experience in a SaaS sales role, with a primary focus on closing deals.
  • Proven ability to own and hit revenue targets.
  • Ability to clearly articulate your sales process and methods.
  • Exceptionally strong communication skills - both written and spoken - with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple but compelling and relatable way.
  • An engaging Zoom and phone manner, with a natural confidence to go with it.
  • Technical proficiency (you’ll be using a variety of tools, and the product you’ll be selling has a lot of depth).
  • Excellent listening skills, with both customers and your team.
  • Proven resilience and persistence.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to think on your feet.
  • Experience with CRM software and sales automation tools.
  • A customer-centric mindset, with a focus on building long-term relationships.
  • It’s not absolutely critical, but an understanding of hospitality management software and its impact on a business, experience in the hospitality industry, or a network of contacts in that world would be a BIG plus.
     

And now a bit more info on our team

Our head office is based in Queenstown, New Zealand, but we’re growing our customer base in Australia and we’re excited to grow a team there too. We’ve chosen Melbourne to be our hub, so that’s where everyone in our Australian team will need to be based. You’ll mix remote and co-working space time, working alongside our SDR - Graham who is running hard.

You’ll report directly to Issy Butson, who has been running and growing Sales functions in SaaS startups for over a decade. You’ll have a heap of experience to lean on and learn from, and a small but high-performing sales team to connect with.

The Benefits to finish
The package for the position is $90k - $120k  uncapped OTE (made up of $90k base + $30k commission (uncapped) + Super), along with the opportunity to participate in our Employee Share Option Scheme.

We don’t like to oversell the perks of the job, as we prefer people who genuinely love the satisfaction of the results hard work brings, but we’re a passionate team of people who are building a really great business in a wonderful industry.
