Chef

Full time Chef required for the The Keys Preston. The Keys Preston is currently seeking a qualified full-time chef to join our team in 1/188 Plenty Road, Preston. We are looking for someone who is creative, organised, passionate and experienced in bistro cuisine. The job description for chef is as follows and it is not an exhaustive list: 

• Menu planning, estimating food and labour costs.
• Preparing and cooking menu items.
• Training and supervision of apprentices and less experienced staff.
• Adhering to, explaining and enforcing of hygiene regulations.
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
• Delegation of tasks to other team members.
• Supervise Cooks and assist as needed.
• Monitor food stock and place orders.  

Requirements: 

• Qualifications in commercial cookery (Cert IV or higher)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the commercial kitchen
• Flexible availability
• Good communication skills 
• Ability to work unsupervised and in a team
• Understanding of OH&S and food hygiene requirements
• Experienced in multi-cuisine.
