About Marmont:
Marmont is a Californian inspired Eating & Drinking House coming to Crown Casino this December. With a diverse selection of flavours, Marmont will focus on a large selection of small plated items with an emphasis on sharing and building a meal out of this extensive grazing platform. With direct access to the riverwalk and views of the Yarra River, this is sure to be one of the biggest openings of the summer. We’d love you to join us. 

Job Description:
As the Restaurant Manager at Marmont, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring that guests receive exceptional service and that the venue runs efficiently. Reporting to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager, you will be the key point of contact for the front-of-house team and will work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to deliver a seamless and memorable dining experience.

Your leadership and organizational skills will be critical in managing staff, maintaining high service standards, and optimizing operations to meet our goals. You will have the opportunity to help shape the culture of the venue, mentor a dedicated team, and ensure that Marmont becomes a favorite destination for locals and visitors alike.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the front-of-house team, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and service flow management.
  • Guest Experience: Maintain a strong presence on the floor, engaging with guests to ensure satisfaction and handling any issues or complaints with professionalism and care.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth coordination of service and that all food and beverages are delivered to guests at the highest standard.
  • Staff Development: Conduct regular training and development programs for front-of-house staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about the menu, beverage offerings, and service expectations.
  • Inventory and Ordering: Assist with managing inventory, including monitoring stock levels for front-of-house supplies and collaborating with the kitchen and bar teams on ordering.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all health, safety, and licensing regulations are adhered to, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze service performance metrics, such as customer satisfaction and turnover rates, implementing improvements where needed.
  • Financial Oversight: Work with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager to manage the budget, monitor expenses, and contribute to profitability targets.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Restaurant Manager in a high-end, fast-paced venue.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a focus on team development and creating a positive work environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to resolve issues professionally and maintain strong guest relationships.
  • Solid understanding of restaurant operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and service standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to the needs of the business.
  • A passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
  • RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification is required.
