About the Venue
A small, concise food menu with a Modern Australian twist infused with fun and nostalgia. Seasonal, all-Australian wine list paired with classic cocktails featuring Australian spirits. Our reserve ‘vault’ list includes select international favourites. About You
The successful candidate will have prior managerial experience in a bar and restaurant setting. You should possess strong knowledge of food & beverage preparation and financial monitoring. Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills are required, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to lead, train, and motivate the team effectively.
About the Role
The Venue Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the venue, ensuring high standards of food & beverage quality and exceptional customer service. Additionally, the Venue Manager oversees the catering, functions, and events as required. This role is responsible for reporting, ensuring financial accountability, and fostering a positive team culture.
The main duties of the role include but are not limited to the below:
Required Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years of managerial experience in a bar, restaurant, and/or food & beverage role.
- Strong knowledge of food & beverage preparation, stock control, and equipment maintenance.
- Proven leadership, team training, and supervisory capabilities.
- Excellent communication & organisational skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and monitor financial performance.
- RSA and Food Safety Supervisor certification.
- Physical fitness with the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20kg.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Customer Service
- Lead by example with a strong presence on the floor and in service.
- Ensure staff provide courteous and efficient service following the sequence of service standards.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) standards are followed.
Team Leadership
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Train & supervise venue staff.
- Manage weekly rosters.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Events, Founders, and Community teams to execute events & activations.
- Conduct regular team meetings with support from management.
- Lead recruitment efforts with assistance from The People and Learning & Development teams.
Stock Control and Ordering
- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock and minimise waste.
- Place orders for supplies in a timely manner.
- Monitor stock rotation and adherence to food safety practices.
Recipe and Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to recipes for all prepared food & beverages.
- Monitor the quality and consistency of food & beverage items.
- Update and maintain recipes, ensuring COGS reporting is accurate.
Equipment Maintenance
- Ensure all equipment is well-maintained.
- Schedule regular maintenance and address repairs promptly.
Financial Accountability
- Take ownership of financial reporting, including end-of-day, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Monitor costs, including stock and labour expenses, and make adjustments, whilst maintaining quality to manage budget.
- Use of POS and analytics tools to track sales trends, measure success, and identify growth opportunities.
Work Health and Safety
- Educate team members and members on WHS policies to maintain a safe environment
- Comply with WHS standards and complete safety culture audits
