Wine Manager

The sunhands wine program is focused on small Australian producers who have a bent toward sustainable and minimal intervention production. Our aim is to champion the people who are pushing the landscape of Victorian and Australian wine. Appropriate candidates will be knowledgeable and passionate about wine but not necessarily experienced in running a wine program - we are happy to develop and train on these skills. 

Responsibilities: 

• Manage wine list (Liaising with local wine makers and developing our Australian wine list and continuing to cultivate relationships that represent our business and values)  

• Manage a small team and maintain standard of service 

• Open and close venue 

• Manage a small tasteful cocktail list  

• Staff trainings 

• Prepare food and drinks according to our standards 

• Maintain a clean and organized venue 

• Stock management  

• Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or complaints 

• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures 

Requirements: 

• 2 years management experience  

• 3 years bar and wine experience 

• WSET level 2 completion (or equivalent level experience)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 

• Strong attention to detail 

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
