We're seeking a full-time Junior Sous Chef to support our back-of-house leadership team. Reporting to the Executive Chef, this role plays a key part in kitchen operations, financial performance, and team development while ensuring food is delivered to the highest standards.

With a loyal following and a growing private dining and events business, we’re looking for an ambitious, talented Junior Sous Chef join our team and help shape the next chapter of our kitchen.

 

The Role We’re seeking a full-time Junior Sous Chef to support our back-of-house leadership team. Reporting to the Senior Sous Chef, this role plays a key part in kitchen operations, financial performance, and team development while ensuring food is delivered to the highest standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-on role in day-to-day kitchen operations and service.

  • Assist with menu development that balances creativity, brand direction, and financial targets.

  • Maintain food quality, consistency, and timely service during high-volume periods.

  • Support cost control and reporting: COGS, labour, and BOH expenses.

  • Train, mentor, and lead CDPs, cooks, apprentices, and KPs.

  • Ensure hygiene, safety, and compliance are upheld at all times.

  • Manage stock levels, ordering, and wastage control.

  • Uphold a collaborative, positive, and motivated kitchen culture.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Certificate-qualified Chef with minimum 3+ years’ experience in a comparable role.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills – able to motivate and train a team.

  • Calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and highly organised.

  • Professional presentation and attention to detail.

  • Passion for Japanese food and culture a strong advantage.
