Elio's Place has an opportunity for a full time professional and proactive venue manager to join our team.

Who we are

Elio’s Place is Melbourne’s new all-day bistro in the heart of the CBD's culinary district: Flinders Lane. Open early and up late, we offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week. Our menu showcases European bistro classics combined with modern Australian flair, designed for sharing among family and friends. It’s where old world European charm meets warm and welcoming hospitality. 

About the role

Our venue manager oversees all aspects of operating our bistro while ensuring a high standard of customer service. They work closely with our front of house and kitchen teams to foster a cohesive work environment and inspire excellence at all times. The venue manager will work a flexible roster.

Key responsibilities

  • Leadership:Recruit, develop and motivate a team dedicated to delivering a high level of service.
  • Operations:Oversee daily operations including rostering, stock control and stakeholder management to ensure efficiency and profitability. Report directly to the Operations Manager. Manage financial budgets and identify opportunities to build revenue growth. Monitor food and beverage quality and consistency through regular inspections and training.
  • Customer experience: Offer each guest attentive and personalised service, reflective of company policies and procedures. Manage private dining functions. Address any issues promptly and professionally.
  • Community and culture: Cultivate a sense of community, a cohesive team, and work closely with all departments to deliver memorable dining experiences. Build positive relationships with the wider community so as to encourage engagement and loyalty.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety standards, company policies and occupational health and safety standards, while proactively identifying and mitigating operational risks.

Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years management experience in complete restaurant service.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate a dynamic group and foster a cohesive and strong service team.
  • Understanding of food safety and occupational health and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience working in a fast-paced dining setting.
  • Genuine knowledge and a passion for food and hospitality.
  • Detail oriented with strong organisational and problem solving skills.
