Blakeaway has become the go-to destination for all food, beverage, gifting and entertaining needs.
ROLE:
As the Sous Chef at Blakeaway, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing aspects of our food production processes. From sourcing ingredients to ensuring quality control and managing a team of dedicated production staff, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of our ready-made meals. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about the efficient production of high quality food and is ready to contribute to the success and growth of a dynamic company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overseeing Production: Manage and oversee aspects of food production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to company standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure that all products meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Inventory Management: Procurement and management of raw materials, and finished goods inventory levels, minimising waste and ensuring product availability.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall production performance.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and company policies, creating a safe and sanitary work environment.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and quality
assurance, to optimize production processes and meet company goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in food production management, with a track record of successfully managing a team and achieving production targets. Strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality control, and production best practices.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality control, and production best practices.
- Ability to problem-solve, make decisions under pressure, and adapt to changing circumstances. Familiarity with production planning software.
