Get your head around all the important legal matters and ensure your new venue thrives.
Opening a new restaurant comes with a number of challenges, none more important than getting your head around all the legal implications. You can have the best chef in the country in the hottest spot in town, but if you don’t understand the law, you’re probably not going to be in business for long.
This October, Gordon Legal is hosting a free event at Worksmith to educate hospitality-business owners on their legal responsibilities. If you’re a want-to-be restaurant owner, or new to the game and want to further improve your knowledge of the law, this is for you.
Lawyers from Gordon Legal will talk about all the important matters and answer your questions. Renowned Melbourne chef Shane Delia (Maha, Biggie Smalls) will also be there to talk about his experiences.
Topics being discussed include employment law, commercial leasing, copyright and trademarking, public liability, and workers compensation. At the end there will be a Q&A.
The session will be hosted by respected hospo identity Hilary McNevin (Turnip Media).
Snacks and drinks will be provided.
”You want to buy the dream, where do you start?” is on Monday October 1 at Worksmith, 450 Smith Street, Collingwood, Victoria, from 5pm to 6.30pm.
